WEA Executive Board

The Wayzata Education Association elects officers for 2 year terms in even number years. Their role is to guide the work of the WEA which is to support teachers supporting kids. We do this work in a variety of ways including member advocacy, member support, and contractual negotiations and enforcement. The WEA members thank you for your leadership!

Rachel Falkowski

WEA President

Rachel has been in the Wayzata District for 19 years, having taught first grade at Kimberly Lane prior to assuming her role as WEA President. Rachel has 3 sons. Tristan, who is a freshman attending Hamline University. Landon, a Junior at WHS and Dawson a 7th grader at CMS. Rachel loves to fish, horseback ride, be in the outdoors and read. She is a huge animal lover and has 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Wea Treasurer

Brent Lackas has been teaching in the Wayzata school district for almost thirty years as a middle school math teacher at Central Middle School. During this duration, his roles include coaching middle school volleyball and track. Brent has served as the WEA membership and treasurer. Brent is married to Christine (also in the district), has two college aged children and a dog. Free time consists of walking Farley, spending time outdoors biking, skiing and boating and listening to live music.

WEA building reps

The Wayzata Education Associations elects building representatives every 2 years for a year year term. Their role is to provide immediate support to members on day to day issues at their sites. They are a first level of support for members in a variety of situations, and they also provide input from their site to the WEA Executive Board. Along with serving and advocating for colleagues, they serve as a connection point to the WEA officers when needed. Finally, they hold routine site meetings reporting back on the work of the WEA.
